USDA Free Meal Program

Dear TAPS Parents,
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has extended the free summer meal program for students through December 31, 2020 or until the funds run out.  This program will provide free meals for all Tracy Area Public School students in grades Pre-Kindergarten –grade 12 Monday through Friday when school is in session.  Students that are taking virtual learning through TAPS using “Educere” are also eligible for this free meal program.  Meals will not be delivered, but can be picked up at Tracy Area High School.  In order to schedule meal pick up please contact Michele Hawkinson, TAPS Food Service Director, at 507-629-5511 or
It is important that families continue to fill out the free and reduced lunch applications otherwise known as “Application for Educational Benefits”.  This needs to be completed each year because the benefits do not carry over to the new school year.  If your family qualifies you will receive school meals at no charge when this program ends and only pay half of your fees for most student activities.   Filling out this form is also extremely beneficial to our school district because the more students that qualify, the more compensatory revenues our district will receive.  We can use this money to help keep our class sizes small and offer opportunities that directly benefit our students.
Please contact Michele Hawkinson with any questions.
